Hey there!
I’m Arun Kishore, a Professional Engineer based in Vancouver, BC. I specialize in structural engineering for LNG facilities, civic water infrastructure, and advanced buildings — with a passion for automating the tedious stuff so engineers can focus on what matters.
This blog is where I document my learning journey and share practical insights on structural engineering — codes, design procedures, automation, and the occasional deep dive into topics that keep me curious.
What I Do
By day, I lead structural design and automation initiatives at Associated Engineering. My work spans seismic design for water control structures, FEM modeling for industrial facilities, and developing Python tools that have saved our team hundreds of engineering hours.
I combine code-driven FEM workflows with deep knowledge of both Canadian and US building codes to deliver projects that are not just structurally sound, but ahead of schedule and under budget.

- Published researcher in Construction and Building Materials
Why This Blog?
I believe the best way to learn is to teach. Writing about structural engineering forces me to clarify my thinking, challenge my assumptions, and stay current. If something I share here helps you solve a problem or see things differently — that’s a win.
